Innvovative Focus

Verda has a strong commitment to ongoing product improvement and has established its own independent research and development programme. Over the last year Verda has developed its own proprietary staining staining system to enhance the durability, performance and appearance of its NZ Clearwood products, developed a patented system for allowing timber panels to move yet maintain their original appearance, engineered hidden fixing systems  for some of its products, and developed innovative designs for raised garden systems.

Verda products are extensively tested prior to commercial release in our field  facility which provides further assurance that products will perform under day to day conditions.

Verda also works closely with Scion, a crown owed research organization in New Zealand. Scion provides further technical support for our drying technology, assessment of timber durability and the performance of NZ Clearwood.

Intellectual Property

Verda protects its intellectual property using a range of  mechanisms –patents, trade name registration, and trade secrets.  Verda's latest patent relates to a system for allowing timber panels to move yet maintain their original appearance (New Zealand Patent Application No. 570321).
