What is FSC and why is it important?

FSC promotes responsible management of the world's forests. Through a consultative process it set international standards for responsible forest management and accredits independent third party organizations (like Smartwood) who can certify forest managers and timber manufacturers to FSC standards. Its trade mark provides international recognition and demonstrates the social and environmental responsibility of forest management worldwide.

Verda NZ cares about rainforest degradation and our environment and focuses on eco-friendly solutions for products and respective responsibility from its suppliers. Our commitment is reflected in our current FSC certification application with Smart wood.

Verda NZ is certified to FSC Chain-of-Custody standards based on FSC-STD-40-003 and FSC-STD-40-004. A documented control system and record keeping is paramount, along with compliance and continuous maintenance of all FSC standards.
